The Future of Funding
5pm – 6:30pm CET, Wednesday Nov 20, 2024
NABA Campus, Via Carlo Darwin, 20, Milan (Italy)

In collaboration with ELIA and NABA Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, the Laboratory for Artistic Intelligence invites SKKG, Wider Sense and others to speak to the ways in which philanthropy has been ‘innovating’ and moving toward empowerment, participation, and trust-based philanthropy. Come to hear about the experimentation that is happening within funding circles, and offer your perspective on how there could be more creativity, fulfilment, risk-taking, and meaningful progress. In the future, what can funding be, and what can being funded mean for individual artists and art academies?

The Stiftung für Kunst, Kultur und Geschichte / SKKG (Foundation for Art, Culture and History) was founded in 1980 by Bruno Stefanini. For the SKKG, cultural heritage is the essential cement for the diversity of our society. In an increasingly mobile and plural society, culture is the foundation of democracy, common values and tolerance. With its project Kultur Komitee (Culture Committee), the foundation is experimenting with participatory ways of grantmaking.

Wider Sense is a consultancy specializing in corporate social responsibility, philanthropy, and social investment. Founded in 2011 as a social business, which evolved as a certified B corporation in 2015, Wider Sense seeks to actively contribute to a fair and sustainable future by advising foundations and businesses on how to invest their resources wisely for the good of society.
