“‘Wearability’ is not the end of life.”
Learn how to transform old clothing and fabrics into new ‘threads’! Join textile artist Joe Lewis for a workshop on weaving as a process of transformation, taking what exists and giving it new form. Participants will be guided on creating a woven (upcycled) textile piece, and have the option to take home their own cardboard loom.
Workshop runs 4pm to 6pm on Aug 14, and Aug 21 at 707 Dundas St West, in the courtyard.
Sign up for either one, or both dates!
About Small Things
Small Things: Tea, Teachings & Being Together is a series of creative workshops led by Indigenous and settler artists presented by Scadding Court Community Centre and Laboratory for Artistic Intelligence with the support of the Toronto Arts Council and Alexandra Park Neighbourhood Learning Centre.
Small Things explores the connections and relationships that emerge when people make something together, when communities gather in shared space, when we slow down enough to connect and journey together.
